I love your website... In 1985, I was 11 years old when we (my cousin 13 yrs old) ended up on the island.. My parents missed the pickup up point and missed the boat journey.. We spent 5-6 months there on the island before we were transferred to another camp and to San Jose, California where I was raised by my uncle... I still have some very vivid memories there. Before we landed on the Pulau Bidong, I remembered begging the pirate (Thai fisherman) to stop molesting my cousin (he had is finger in her private part).... This website brought me tears and at the same time I am feeling so bless that we made it. Since then, I graduated from college with an MBA, became a Police Officer, got married with two wonderful children. My cousin also had a BS degree, got married with two kids.... thank you so much... I really want to go back and see the island again... any pointers?

To the board and members who ones worked hard to help and now set up this site to keep our memories alive. After over 30 years settled down in US  I said "Thank You", though is only tow word but is including every thing that from my heart. My family was one of the first wave of boat people left Viet-Nam during the end of 70' landed on Kuan Tan. After years of hardship in the new land now I'm proud to inform you that most ( Boat People) of us enjoying a relatively good life and pretty close reaching retirement year now our kids mostly college graduated and many of them are  Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers and other professional of all kinds.
These were all started from here, because of This country, this lovely island and the people who devoted, committed to help. I shall be back one day to revisit to say "Thank you" again , to say I'm grateful.
